You have to take into consideration the fact that we had a brand new team then a shitload of injuries.

Also take into consideration the fact that the bloke has come to a new country, with a different culture and try and settle in. You have to look at things on a human level, too - they're not robots.

He's done well. Look at Tevez, it took him ages to come good, then look what happened.

He's also scored 8 (EIGHT) times.

Yeah, that's fucking bang average.

Have a word with yourself, he's playing in at the moment an average PL side in his first season in the league.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Newcastle - Official Match Thread FT 2-0 Rice (7' ), Noble (42' pen)
So in approx 30 games he has created 3 goals. If that isn't average how would you term it, Block?

8 goals 3 assists is bang average?

Have a fucking word with yourself. It's his first season in the PL.

Some of our fans are never fucking happy and live in cloud cuckoo land.

It's more of the point to protect him, they will come flying out and there will be some thunderous challengers early on.
Bring him on early second half when they are tiring.
We need him for the whole run not just a few games.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Newcastle - Official Match Thread FT 2-0 Rice (7' ), Noble (42' pen)
Another day sometimes but as I said earlier he does try these intricate little balls through the gaps and around the corner that we've been lacking, I agree that Lanzini will share the creative workload and if we can somehow get Nasri in the side with Arnie up front things look exciting

Without going all Alex V on you I looked at other players for a comparison, Hazard has 12 goals and 11 assists and Pogba 11 goals and 9 assist, so he isn't doing too bad, especially when you think of the quality of players those two are playing with which ups their assists count

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Newcastle - Official Match Thread FT 2-0 Rice (7' ), Noble (42' pen)
It's a shame that Lanzini and Yarmolenko have been out of action, as i think that them two, along with Anderson and Arnautovic up front would tear teams apart.

Hopefully, by the start of next season we'll have them all back together.

For us to be a top team, you can't just be relying on one man (Anderson or whoever) to pull the strings all the time.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Newcastle - Official Match Thread FT 2-0 Rice (7' ), Noble (42' pen)
North Bank - I'd say 8 goals and 3 assists is bang average for the fee paid. I'm not saying he has been a flop by any means, on his day he is comfortably our best player since Payet. But surely you must see that he can do more and his final ball goes astray a lot.

As said, hopefully with Lanzini back it will free him up a little.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Newcastle - Official Match Thread FT 2-0 Rice (7' ), Noble (42' pen)
Another day we're all different how we view the game, but Anderson has a 8 goals, 3 assists and has produced 10 major chances in his 29 games, all for a player that has had to settle into a new style and different pace of game to what he was used to in Italy

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Newcastle - Official Match Thread FT 2-0 Rice (7' ), Noble (42' pen)
I still think Anderson is doing very well in most of his game. He beats his man most of the time and gets the ball into the final third just fine.

He has stopped driving into the box like he did when he was scoring goals and we seem to run out of other ideas in that position.

I don't know if it would help but picking a striker and sticking with him for a few games, develop some rhythm and understanding could not hurt.

I noticed a couple of times that when Lanzini lost possession Anderson was straight after the player that dispossessed Manuel.

I liked that.

Was watching Everton yesterday and a few times they got it to Bernard with the same sort of marking Anderson gets and he got snuffed out every time.
Now that he has Lanzini to play off I expect he will become more and more dangerous.
With Lanzini a bit rusty we were a last touch or a final pass away from being in 4 or 5 times.
That will come hopefully

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Newcastle - Official Match Thread FT 2-0 Rice (7' ), Noble (42' pen)
For 42 mil I want more than a few clever passes around the box. For me he needs to start doing more in and around the oppo's box. Too many times his final ball lets him down and now his goals have dried up. So again, for 42 mil I want more than a few fancy tricks, but feel free to disagree by all means.

I think we should resist that. I just watched Wolves pass their way round Cardiff very effectively and we have players to do the same.

They are slow and they just lost their biggest centre half.

I thought Anderson was very good the other day. He was involved in loads of neat passing moves that opened them up.

He’s an excellent player.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Newcastle - Official Match Thread FT 2-0 Rice (7' ), Noble (42' pen)
AOI can't agree with that, Anderson for me is one of the first names on the team sheet, he has the ability to make things happen and plays many little clever passes around the box, they don't always come off or the player receiving the ball doesn't finish the move or attempt off, but the fact he keeps doing them shows how he doesn't hide

Building a successful side is the sum of all parts, for me has lit up the season with his skill

Think Antonio will be back in place of Lanzini against Cardiff.
Warnick will give orders to rough him up.
Snodgrass can play in the middle with Antonio on the right of the front 3. Arnautovic will be needed to against a bigger Cardiff team.

Anderson has been subbed in games where he's been ineffective so I don't believe Pellegrini has favourites. If you don't have a good game you get hooked, simple as that.

Unlike the fat cunt who used to manage us though he doesn't bang on about 'individual errors' and name names, he's got a lot more class than that.

Having said all that I wouldn't want to upset him. I sit behind the dugout and I have seen him going absolutely fucking mental sometimes. It's a side of his character you don't often hear about.

Think it was a bit rough on Antonio to be on the bench, particularly as he's been one of the better performers recently. Can't see what mini-mex provides that Antonio can't do better.

I think Pellegrini needs to show a bit of loyalty to the players who make the effort. Instead he keeps picking Anderson who's done pretty much fuck all since xmas.
